Some time ago that we wanted to bring you a new free pattern and we could not wait more, today we share a amigurumi that believe is one of the smallest we have done so far, but don’t be fooled by its size, because his sweetness is immense

Amigurumi Pattern – Piwi Penguin

   ABBREVIATIONS

  • ch = chain stitch
  • dec = decrease
  • inc = increase
  • mr = magic ring
  • sc = single crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • rep = repeat
  • rnd(s)= round(s)
  • FO = fasten off
  • * * x…= repeat instructions in asterisks … times 
  • Continuous round = Crochet all followed, without closing the rounds.
  • Joined round = Go closing every rounds and climb to the next turn with a chain.
  • Worked in Rows = Crochet in a base of chains and turning the crochet at the end each row.

    MATERIALS

  • Yarns (for crochet hooks 3 – 3,5 / 1mm wide)
    Colors at your choice
  • Fiberfill (to stuff)
  • 6mm Safety Eyes (0,24 inches – diameter approx.) 

    TOOLS

  • 2,5mm Hook (Clover Amour – UK 12)
  • Yarn Needle (for sew and embroider)
  • Scissors 

BODY

Worked in continuous round
Round 1.- Magic Ring (6)
Round 2.- *1 inc* x6 (12)
Round 3.- *1 sc, 1inc* x6 (18)
Round 4.- *2 sc, 1inc* x6 (24)
Round 5.- *3 sc, 1inc* x6 (30)
Round 6.- *4 sc, 1inc* x6 (36)
Rounds 7 – 15.- 1sc in each st (36)
Round 16.- *4 sc, 1 dec* x6 (30)
Round 17.- *3 sc, 1 dec* x6 (24)
Round 18.- *2 sc, 1 dec* x6 (18)
Stop and place the white front between Rnds. 6 and 17 counting from the top. Once positioned, place the safety eyes crossing the front and the body, between the rnds. 3/4 of the front and leaving 6sc distance. When placing the eye washer, the front will hold. Not yet sew and retakes the body.
Round 19.- *1 sc, 1 dec* x6 (12)
Round
20.- *1 dec* x6 (6)
Stuff the body as you crochet. FO. Now, you can sew the white front by the edges.

WHITE FRONT

Worked in continuous round
Round 1.- Magic Ring (6)
Round 2.- *1 inc* x6 (12)
Round 3.- *1 sc, 1 inc* x6 (18)
Round 4.- *2 sc, 1 inc* x6 (24)
Round 5.- *3 sc, 1 inc* x6 (30)
Round 6.- *4 sc, 1 inc* x6 (36)
FO, leaving a long tail.

LEGS x2

Worked in continuous round
Round 1.- Magic Ring (6)
Round 2.- *1 sc, 1 inc* x3 (9)
Rounds 3 – 4.- 1sc in each st (9)

BEAK

Round 1.- Magic Ring (3)
Make like normal ring but don’t close it. FO, leaving a long tail.

WINGS x2

Round 2.- *1 sc, 1 inc* x3 (9)
Round 3.- 1sc in each st (9)
Round 4.- *2 sc, 1 inc* x3 (12)
Rounds 5 – 8.- 1sc in each st (12)
FO, leaving a long tail.

EARMUFFS x2

Worked in continuous round
Round 1.- Magic Ring (6)
Round 2.- *1 inc* x6 (12)
Round 3.- *1 sc, 1 inc* x6 (18)
Rounds 4 – 5.- 1sc in each st (18)
Round 6.- *1 sc, 1 dec* x6 (12)
Stuff the earmuffs as you crochet. FO, leaving a long tail.

EARMUFFS STRIP

Worked in rows
Start with 12ch + 1ch to climb (13)
Rows.1 – 2.- 1sc in each st (12)
FO, leaving a long tail.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Sew the beak in Rnd.2 between the eyes (counting from center)
  2. Embroider the bangs from the top to the front.
  3. Sew the legs between Rnds.2 and 4 (counting from bottom)
  4. Sew the wings between Rnds.8 and 12 (counting from up)
  5. Stitch the strip centered. Just stitch the ends.
  6. Sew the earmuffs, one on each side.
  7. Embroider the cheeks under the eyes.
  8. Embroider the heart to the side.
  9. Put a key chain on it to carry it with you always!

And you’re done!!! Enjoy your sweet penguin!!!
